Rwanda Participates in the 52nd Session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group at UN Geneva
Rwanda participated in the 52nd Session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group held at the United Nations Office at Geneva, contributing to the review of eleven countries and one Trade Policy Review process during the session.
As part of its engagement under the Universal Periodic Review mechanism, Rwanda contributed to the review of Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Palau, Paraguay, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore and Somalia. Rwanda also participated in the WTO Trade Policy Review of Belize.
Throughout the discussions, Rwanda shared observations and recommendations on a wide range of issues related to the promotion and protection of human rights, including access to healthcare and education, social protection, women’s empowerment, anti-discrimination frameworks, the fight against hate speech and gender-based violence, disability inclusion, climate resilience, disaster preparedness, and access to justice and essential services for vulnerable communities.
Rwanda reaffirmed the importance of constructive dialogue, peer cooperation and multilateral engagement in advancing human rights and supporting sustainable development outcomes for all.
