Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa Presents Her Letters of Credence to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Rwanda to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, officially presented her Letters of Credence to Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), during a formal ceremony held at the Palais des Nations.

Ambassador Bakuramutsa and reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to multilateral cooperation. 

In her meeting with the Director-General, Ambassador Bakuramutsa conveyed warm greetings from His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, and  reaffirmed Rwanda’s strong commitment to the principles of the United Nations. She emphasized the country’s active engagement in ongoing UN reforms and its dedication to multilateral cooperation as a means of advancing sustainable development, peace, and international security. The Ambassador also highlighted Rwanda’s support for inclusive dialogue and mutual understanding as essential pillars of effective global governance.

Ambassador Bakuramutsa brings to her new role substantial experience from senior positions in government, diplomacy, and other sectors. Her career has included serving as Rwanda’s Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as leadership roles contributing to national development and international cooperation.

In the coming weeks, Ambassador Bakuramutsa will also present her credentials to the President of the Swiss Confederation. Her diplomatic accreditation extends to Austria, the Holy See (Vatican City), Slovenia, Liechtenstein, and the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), where similar formalities will be completed.
