Rwandan Health Professionals in Switzerland Engage with Minister of Health

On the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly, the Embassy of Rwanda in Switzerland hosted a meeting with Rwandan health professionals from the diaspora for an interactive discussion with Minister of Health, Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana.

Switzerland — and particularly Geneva — hosts numerous international health organizations, where a significant number of Rwandans contribute their expertise across health and other sectors. The meeting provided an opportunity to connect these professionals with Rwanda’s health leadership and to explore avenues for strengthening collaboration with the health sector back home.

Dr. Nsanzimana shared updates on Rwanda’s latest achievements in health, including advancements in universal health coverage, digital health, and expanded access to quality care. He emphasized the importance of diaspora engagement in sustaining these gains and invited participants to contribute their knowledge and skills toward Rwanda’s health priorities.

Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa commended the professionals for their dedication and reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to facilitate stronger links between Rwanda and its diaspora community. She encouraged participants to build on their expertise and networks in Geneva to support Rwanda’s continued health sector transformation.

The exchange concluded with a lively discussion, where participants shared perspectives on how best to leverage their skills and international exposure to advance Rwanda’s health agenda.
