Rwanda Signs Five MoUs at the 70th IAEA General Conference
One of the key outcomes of Rwanda’s participation in the 70th International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference was the conclusion of four new Memoranda of Understanding and the renewal of an existing agreement.
The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority signed MoUs with Russia’s Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service, the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority, and Benin’s National Authority for Radiological Safety and Radiation Protection. It also renewed its MoU with the Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security.
In addition, the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board and the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority concluded a tripartite MoU with the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.
Together, the agreements expand Rwanda’s network of regulatory and technical partnerships across Africa and beyond. They provide frameworks for capacity-building, knowledge and information exchange, technical cooperation and the sharing of good practices, supporting the safe, secure and peaceful application of nuclear science and technology in Rwanda.
