Rwanda Participates in the Celebration of 30 Years of Switzerland’s Membership in La Francophonie
Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa participated in the celebration marking the 30th anniversary of Switzerland’s membership in the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), held on 4 June 2026 in Bern.
The event brought together senior government officials, diplomats, representatives of Francophone institutions, and members of the diplomatic corps to reflect on Switzerland’s three decades of engagement within the Francophone community.
The celebration was attended by Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, Head of the Federal Department of Home Affairs, and Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of La Francophonie. Discussions highlighted the role of La Francophonie as a space for dialogue, cooperation, solidarity, cultural exchange, and the promotion of shared values among its member states.
