Rwanda Participates in High-Level Segment of the 61st Session of the Human Rights Council
At the United Nations Office at Geneva, Rwanda’s delegation, led by Hon. Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, took part at the 61st session of the Human Rights Council bringing together Ministers and senior officials from across the world to engage on key human rights priorities within the multilateral framework.
On the sidelines, the Minister held a series of bilateral meetings with counterparts, including ministers and senior officials from Portugal, Qatar, Maldives, Thailand, and Andorra, as well as additional engagements with other partners. These discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, exchanging views on regional and global developments, and advancing shared priorities within the Human Rights Council.
At the Palais des Nations, the Minister also convened Rwanda’s side event addressing the impact of hate speech and its role in fueling cycles of violence and regional instability, and also met and exchanged with members of the Rwandan diaspora community in Switzerland.
