Rwanda Delivers Statement on Draft Resolution A/HRC/60/L.32 on Eastern DRC
Rwanda delivered a statement during discussions at the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on draft resolution A/HRC/60/L.32 concerning the human rights situation in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Delivering Rwanda’s intervention, Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa rejected what she described as unfounded accusations against Rwanda and stressed that lasting peace in the region requires addressing the root causes of the conflict rather than repeating accusatory narratives.
Ambassador Bakuramutsa further reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to continued constructive engagement in efforts aimed at ensuring security, accountability, and the protection of civilians, while supporting initiatives to restore peace and dignity to populations across the Great Lakes region.
