RURA and Rostechnadzor Sign MoU on Nuclear and Radiation Safety Regulation
On the margins of the 70th IAEA General Conference, the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) and Russia’s Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in nuclear and radiation safety regulation.
The MoU provides a framework for technical cooperation between the two regulatory authorities, including the exchange of expertise and sharing of good practices in nuclear and radiation safety.
The agreement is an important step in strengthening Rwanda’s regulatory capacity as the country advances its nuclear energy programme, while ensuring strong safety and regulatory standards.
