On 24 March in Vienna, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe met with members of the Rwandan diaspora in Austria.

Discussions focused on the diaspora’s contribution to national development, strengthening joint initiatives, and preserving Rwandan culture and the Kinyarwanda language among younger generations.

The Rwandan diaspora in Austria continues to play a key role in supporting Rwanda’s development through investment, skills transfer, and sustained engagement in national initiatives. Their contribution remains essential in reinforcing connections between Rwanda and its citizens abroad while advancing the nation’s progress.

The exchange also provided an opportunity for open and constructive dialogue, with participants raising questions and contributions and engaging the Minister on a range of topics, including recent regional developments and national priorities. The visit underscored the importance of regular engagement with diaspora communities to preserve unity, strengthen collaboration, and support Rwanda’s continued development trajectory.
