Mario Goumaz Takes Oath of Rwandan Citizenship in Geneva

On Friday, 27 June 2025, Mario Goumaz officially became part of the Rwandan community by taking the Oath of Citizenship. The solemn ceremony, held at the Rwandan Embassy in Geneva, was presided over by Rwanda’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Urujeni Bakuramutsa, and marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life as he embraced his Rwandan nationality.

In her remarks, Ambassador Bakuramutsa highlighted the significance of unity, integrity, and patriotism as the values that define the Rwandan identity. She encouraged Mr. Goumaz to carry these values with pride and to contribute actively to Rwanda’s development.

Mr. Goumaz expressed his deep attachment to Rwanda’s values and his determination to contribute fully to the country’s progress. This oath marked not only a personal milestone for the new Rwandan citizen, but also a reminder of the values that continue to strengthen Rwanda’s community at home and abroad.
