CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, women of the Rwandan Diaspora of Switzerland in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to Switzerland have decided to celebrate this important day virtually via webex and youtube live streaming. It was celebrated under the theme ′′ Rwandan women, be at the forefront in this world threatened by COVID-19 ′′
This celebration helped in mobilizing women members of the Rwandan diaspora living in Switzerland and in the above-mentioned countries as well as members of the Rwandan diaspora in general, to contribute to the promotion of Rwandan women and to gender equality in Rwanda and abroad. It also helped to better understand the importance of this day.
The celebration provided a good opportunity to celebrate what has been achieved in terms of women empowment and gender equality in rwanda; to analyze the remaining challenges as well the to reflecting on the solutions.

Mrs. Marie Chantal RWAKAZINA, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Switzerland ( also acredited to Austria, Liechtenstein, Slovenia and Holy See) and Pemanent Mission to the United Nations, to WTO and other International Organizations in Geneva,
Jeanne d'Arc Kanakuze, President, Profemme Twese Hamwe, who shared the experience of her organiyation in empowering women
.Mrs. Dr. Denise Mupfasoni, Member of the Rwandan community in Switzerland
Mrs. Sylvie Stark Ikirezi, who served as a Moderator
Mrs. Jeanne dArc Pellissier Umugwaneza, member of Rwandan Community in switzerland who recited a poem in honor of the woman
Mr. Cyusa n'Inkera and his team ( both Artists) who sang songs honoring the woman
