Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa Meets Rwandan Community Members in Fribourg, Neuchâtel and Surroundings
The Rwandan diaspora community in Switzerland living in Fribourg, Neuchâtel, and surroundings hosted Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa and the Embassy team for an interactive dialogue focused on strengthening community ties, preserving Rwandan values, and advancing key diaspora projects, including the promotion of Kinyarwanda and the transmission of Rwandan culture among the younger generation.
Ambassador Bakuramutsa commended the community’s commitment to unity and national development, highlighting that “the Embassy remains a partner and a bridge to support initiatives that connect the diaspora to Rwanda’s transformation journey.” She also introduced members of the Embassy team to the community.
Mr. Yves Cyaka, President of the Rwandan Community in Switzerland, and Mr. Jean Claude Salamu, Representative of the community in Fribourg, Neuchâtel, and surroundings, both expressed appreciation to the Embassy for its continued engagement and support to the diaspora, while encouraging members to remain united and actively contribute to Rwanda’s progress.
Several participants took the floor to share ideas and perspectives on how to strengthen collaboration and advance community-led initiatives. The meeting concluded with a networking cocktail, closing the day on a note of continued engagement.
