Ambassador James Ngango Presents Credentials to His Holiness Pope Francis
On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Ambassador James Ngango, Rwanda’s envoy to the Holy See, presented his Letters of Credence to His Holiness Pope Francis in a solemn ceremony at the Apostolic Palace in The Vatican City.
Ahead of the ceremony, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Javier Domingo Fernández González, Head of Protocol, gave a comprehensive explanation on the usual proceedings of the papal Credentials Ceremony.
Among other key meetings held, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Ambassador Ngango met with Monsignor Roberto Campisi, Assessor for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State who received copies of Ambassador’s Letters of Credence as part of the preparations for the official presentation. They discussed institutional collaboration and enhancement of diplomatic coordination. Later in the day, Ambassador Ngango held discussions with Monsignor Miroslaw Stanislaw Wachowski, Undersecretary Secretary for Relations with States, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing shared objectives.
On Friday, 6th December, 2024; Ambassador Ngango held discussion with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, focusing on fostering bilateral relations.
The Catholic Church, through its religious congregations and affiliated NGOs, has been contributing to improving the lives of Rwandans, particularly in education, healthcare, and community welfare, significantly contributing to the country's development.
The presentation of credentials by Ambassador Ngango to His Holiness Pope Francis is part of his broader diplomatic mandate, with a multiple area of jurisdiction including Austria, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Switzerland and other Geneva & Vienna-based international organizations.
